Virtual Phone System & Service

Virtual phone systems and services are meant to help entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals appear professional by giving them the ability to work from a small office, remote locations, home, or elsewhere and use the virtual phone system to make and receive business calls.

Phone.com is one such service. They can help you set up a 1-800 number for your business, using either standard numbers or a vanity number.

They also have mobile apps for your android based phone or iPhone, making it possible to call from you mobile phone and keep your mobile number private while making it appear you’re calling from your Phone.com virtual business number.

I’m just starting to take note of these kinds of phone services, but as I research more, I’ll be sure to write about them. They make having a more professional appearance easy for people working remotely or from home, and they also make it more affordable to run a full featured phone system for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

When I started my business, I did not want to use my home line so I signed up for a virtual phone service. My clients never know that I work from home because when you call my number, you hear, “Thank you for calling. Please enter the ext # of the person you would like to reach. Press for 1 sales etc. And all the calls are forwarded to my home line. I’ve been using a service called http://www.iTeleCenter.com by COA Network, http://www.coanetwork.com, for about a year. It was extremely cost effective and really easy to setup. I’m very happy with the service. They have a flat rate fee for unlimited calls to the toll free number and a ton of features.

About Lynn

I've always had a long-distance commute to work. It used to come in at about thirty thousand miles each year and that's where I got the name for this site. I also telecommute and I have for years. I use the internet to work in my office remotely, and I love it. I created this site to share my tips and thoughts about telecommuting and long-distance commuting, since I do both. I hope you enjoy my site.
