Working Remotely Just Got Easier on the iPad
GoToMyPC has recently launched a version in App form for the iPad. I wrote about it over on Remote Access Computer, a site for tips about remote computer access geared toward those of us who work from home to keep from having to go into the office as often.
The GoToMyPC iPad application is a great option if you need access to your office computer (or other computer) but don’t want to carry around a laptop. This is especially handy when you’re traveling.
The GoToMyPC app isn’t perfect, and Citrix (GoToMyPC’s creator) says they’re working on enhancements but needed to get a nicely working, but basic, version out there for people to use. Sometimes this is what has to happen. Either way though, I think it’s excellent news that GoToMyPC is getting on the mobility train and delivering new ways for us to use the product to get our work done in the easiest way possible when we’re away from the office.
The GoToMyPC iPad app isn’t for me since I use an Android device, not an Apple device, but it’s nice to know there’s supposed to be support for Android and Windows Phone 7 in the future, as according to the GoToMyPC.com website.
I’ve been using GoToMyPC for a long time and I’m still a satisfied GoToMyPC customer. I look forward to even more ways to use the remote access service to get my work done without having to drive to the office every day.
